This is my E Asttle reading results. I am really disappointed because I dropped a level. Before I had a 4A and now I have a 4P. I am at my national standard which is quite good.  Next time I am going to try and get a 5B/5P.

Book choices for Junior Children

I chose Winnie the Witch by Korky Paul and Valerie Thomas for juniors because it has big pictures in it and less words. It was also the winner of the children’s book awards. This book would be suitable for Year 1 through to Year 5. The child can read it with the parent or they can read it by themselves. This book is about a witch named Winnie who is very clumsy and does magic on her black cat. Children will enjoy this book because it is funny and also entertaining

I know because … Appaji got a clever plan to get a bag of gold coins from the Sultan and the king of Vijayanagar. Appaji also moved around the mobile garden.
Examples: The Sultan ordered lots of vegetables of Vijayanagar otherwise he would destroy King Krishna’s kingdom.	Examples: The story told us that Vijayanagar was in Southern India. It told us who the king of Vijayanagar was. The story also had some Indian words.	Examples: Appaji is the minister of King Krishna’s court. He is named the clever one. When he gave the vegetables to the Sultan, the Sultan will give money to him.

WALT : explain the author’s purpose

I am learning about the author’s purpose. I had to read a paragraph the game gives me and then choose one of the 4 answers. My answer was entertain because jokes entertain you. For every answer you get right you move up a level which they choose as money. The most amount of money I got was $4,000. Next time I hope I get up to $1,000,000. When I get another reading game I hope I get something similiar to this.

The Two Farmers

I have been learning to read independently. The book I read was The Two Farmers. I had to read the story first and then I had to answer some of the questions they gave me about the story. I got 7 right and 3 wrong. It was a little easy because all I had to do was answer the question they gave me. Next I want to learn about punctuation.

Yesterday I shared my ebook with Sarah from room 8. I read it first to her so that she could understand.  . I helped her with some difficult words like jump, stop and tried.  I think reading my e book to Sarah is a big part of learn , create , share.

Grammer : Word Confusion

I am  learning to put the right word into the sentence . This is how I figured it out .

I was sick for a week.

It is week because week means 7 days and weak means that you have no energy . The answer was week . It was really easy because I knew both meanings.
