Taekwondo

On a beautiful sunny wednesday room 9 had to go taekwondo. taekwondo is a korean martial art. When we reached the taekwondo room we met this lady who is a taekwondo black belt master. Her name is Mrs Robinson.

After that we learnt how to do the taekwondo punch by counting 1 to 10 in korean . Then we learnt how to do flicky kick . That was our first kick we learnt . Since we were so good at the kick she told us to kick on the pads . We kicked 4 times on the pad .

The second day we learnt some more . We learnt how to get out of a arm grip. It was fun but it was a bit hurtful. Then we learnt the high kick. it was pretty cool .

The third day of taekwondo we learnt something new. We learnt the 5 tenets of taekwondo. The first one was courtesy, second one was integrity, the third one was perseverance, the fourth one was self-control and the last one was Indomitable Spirit.

The last day of taekwondo was the best day of all. We got to break a board . first we had go in four lines, 2 girls line and 2 boys line and we practised our kicks . When we finished practising our kicks we got into one single line and we each broke a board. I had two turns because in the first turn I didn’t do it properly but in the last one I got it. Some of the other boys kicked it in one shot, but 3 of the boys Tamim , Timothy and Wesley broke the blackboard in 3 turns because they couldn’t do it in the first and second try but they did it in the third turn.  When everybody finished we said “ thank you ’’ to Mrs Robinson and we left the room .

It was an exciting experience to try taekwondo. everybody loved it.
